Planning and painting a tartan

Geoff Davis

Intermediate Painting

Sunday, March 7 2021

11:00 - 13:00

Tartan is awesome. Looks cool and wows your friends. Not hard to paint either. Just requires a bit of planning and a systematic approach. I will discuss how to select a tartan, plan how to paint it, and demonstrate how to put the plan into action with a systematic approach. A good quality brush with a very fine tip is required. A brush like a Raphael 8404 Size 0 or 1 in very good condition is recommended.
Prep:
This is an intermediate class. Painting tartan is a freehand step that occurs late in the miniature painting process. Your figure should be primed (ideally prepared with zenithal prime or a value sketch). Your figure can be as much or as little painted as you like.
Materials:
Highlander Heroine 03765 Warm Green 09011 Marine Teal 09077 Linen White 09061 Imperial Purple 09023 Dragon Black 09437
